Urban green infrastructure, with green walls of particular interest, is increasingly regarded as a nature-based solution to particulate matter (PM) pollution in cities. The doctoral research of Tess Ysebaert focuses on the aerodynamic characterisation of green wall species and the determination of its capacity to capture PM. The overall goal is to construct a numerical model that can accurately predict PM capture by green walls. Tess obtained her masters in Bioscience Engineering in Environmental engineering at UGent and started her Ph.D. at the lab of Prof. dr. ir. Siegfried Denys in 2017.
