OPEN Forum - Unlimited! 3 Innovation for access: new interactions

OPEN Forum and the Unlimited! 3 Innovation for Access: new interactions will take place online this year. This two-day event will focus on research, practice, policy and technological innovation related to the accessibility of live events and broadcasts.

The Unlimited! 3 programme explores recent developments in audio description, audio subtitling, subtitling for the hearing impaired, and sign language. Our first keynote is Joselia Neves professor at Hamid Bin Khalifa University in Qatar. She will speak about MOVES AND SHIFTS TO MITIGATE MISMATCHES. The second keynote is Piet Devos, freelance writer, translator and literary scholar, who will talk about BLINDNESS AS MULTISENSORY KNOWLEDGE - Rethinking accessibility through the (blind) body.

Unlimited! 3 will be preceded by the OPEN Forum, which will consist of an opening panel with:

  • Pablo Romero Fresco, researcher at the Universidade de Vigo and Honorary Professor of Translation and Filmmaking at the University of Roehampton
  • Kate Fox, Access Manager at the Manchester International Festival
  • Padraig Naughton, Executive Director, Arts & Disability Ireland

This will be followed by a series of presentations from experts in accessibility technologies and a short online networking session.
