International guests who have not been (fully) vaccinated are given the opportunity to receive a vaccine in Antwerp. We strongly recommend that guests who have not yet been vaccinated take advantage of this opportunity. 

What do you need? Identity papers and a BIS number. Anyone enrolled here as a degree student or recruited as a member of staff has already received a BIS number. Students will find their BIS number in SISA. Members of staff should contact the International Staff Office. Other guests can receive a BIS number on simple request (with a copy of their passport) from the International Relations Office.

Vaccination with second dose

If you were already partially vaccinated with an EMA-approved vaccine abroad, you can receive the second dose here. Degree students should contact the International Student Office, members of staff should contact the International Staff Office, PhD students should contact the Antwerp Doctoral School, and other guests should contact the International Relations Office

Full vaccination

Those who have not yet received a vaccination or who have received a non-EMA approved vaccine can be vaccinated in Antwerp at the following locations: ​

  • Sint-Erasmus Hospital (Luitenant Lippenslaan 55, 2140 Antwerpen): open every Wednesday from 2-6 pm
  • Stuivenberg Hospital (Lange Beeldekensstraat 267, 2060 Antwerpen): open every Thursday from 2-8 pm

Recognition of an EU certified vaccine

Have you been partially or completely vaccinated in your home country and do you want your vaccination registered in the Belgian database 'Vaccinnet'? Get in touch with a doctor. If you don’t have a doctor yet, you can find student doctors here and here. You will need a BIS number for this. Students will find their BIS number in SISA. Members of staff should contact the International Staff Office. Other guests can receive a BIS number on simple request (with a copy of their passport) from the International Relations Office

Covid Safe Ticket and vaccination certificate

How to get your Covid-19 vaccination certificate after you had your vaccine in Belgium or after getting your vaccine registered in Vaccinnet?

  • If you have a Belgian residence permit, you can download the certificate here
  • If you don’t have a residence permit yet, call the Flemish Helpdesk for COVID-certificates: +32 (0)78 78 78 50
    • Unfortunately, the instructions are only given in Dutch. You have to press the following keys: after each question, you press the number “1”. After the third “1” you can dial your BIS number followed by #
    • If that doesn’t work or you don’t know your BIS number, call the same number and press “2” after the first question.
    • The certificate will be sent by post to the (physical) address that is linked to your BIS number.
