Language Testing in Europe: Time for a New Framework?

This conference will bring together practitioners, policy makers and researchers in order to discuss the following issues related to the use of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
EARLI SIG 14 2012: Learning in Transition
From 22 to 24 August 2012 the biennial conference of the Special Interest Group on Learning and Professional Development (EARLI SIG 14) took place in Antwerp. The Institute for Education and Information Sciences (IOIW) and Linguapolis collaborated in organising this international conference.

With the organisation of a biennial CALL conferences, LINGUAPOLIS continues a tradition launched by Didascalia in 2002. This initiative ties in closely with the activities of Jozef Colpaert in his capacity as the editor-in-chief of Computer Assisted Language Learning: An International Journal (Taylor & Francis). Thus far, there have been six CALL conferences (2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012).

In addition to the CALL conferences, LINGUAPOLIS is also involved in the organisation of the MIDP symposiums and conferences. As part of this project, Belgian and South African universities have, for several years now, been conducting research on the topic of multilingualism and exclusion. In preparation of the second large MIDP-colloquium, which took place in Antwerp from 14 to 16 September 2009, a colloquium was organised at UA in late November 2007 under the title: ‘Multilingualism and Exclusion: Perspectives on Language and Society’.

From 29 June to 1 Juli 2011 the yearly conference of the Education, Learning, Styles, Individual differences Network (ELSIN) took place in Antwerp. The Institute for Education and Information Sciences (IOIW) and Linguapolis collaborated in organising this international conference.
