On 11 December, ISUA (Institute for Cooperation between University and Labour Movement) and USOS (University Foundation for Development Cooperation) will be organizing a study evening on solidarity between employees in the global value chain. Two cases will be discussed. A case on handknotted carpet manufacturers in India and the value chain in relation to IKEA. The second case considers the steel manufacturing corporation Mittal and taking land from indigenous people in India. Professor  Kattithara Joseph Sophy of the National Law University Delhi will introduce the subject of labour in India, after which experts will present the cases.
