Dear friends and colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce the 10th International Conference on WT1 in Human Neoplasia that will be held in my home town of Antwerp, Belgium from Thursday 26 October until Saturday 28 October 2023.

We have already promised scientific participation from important investigators from 3 continents (Asia, Europe and America) and after 5 years of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the thirst for knowledge and for face-to-face discussions between scientists in the WT1 field will be taken up again. Interesting sessions will be organized on all aspects of this fascinating protein, from basic biology to laboratory and clinical aspects, including on the progress of WT1-based immunotherapy. It speaks to the pioneering role of Prof. Haruo Sugiyama (Osaka University, Osaka, Japan) and Prof. Eckhard Thiel (Charité University Medical Center, Berlin, Germany) and their colleagues, who organized the 1st International Conference on WT1 in Human Neoplasia in Berlin in 2004, that they helped create the field of cancer immunotherapy, at a time when it was not very fashionable or popular.

The meeting will take place in the historical center of Antwerp. Antwerp has a prestigious past: it was the city of Rubens and van Dyck. It has also an important present and future: its port, that has recently fusioned with the port of Bruges, is the 5th largest in the world. It is an important fashion center and it is the world center of the diamond trade. Its Royal Museum of Fine Arts, that had been closed for renovation during 11 years, has reopened recently and houses important collections of many renowned Flemish painters, including James Ensor, one of the major pioneers of post-impressionist modern art. It is with pleasure that I can announce that the conference dinner will take place at this prestigious museum in the evening of Friday 27 October 2023.
