RC21 Conference 2021

RC21 Conference 2021 goes virtual

The 2021 annual conference of the International Sociological Association Research Committee 21 on Urban and Regional Development will take place from Wednesday 14 until Friday 16 July 2021.

The general theme of the conference is ‘Sensing and Shaping the City’, focusing on how citizens experience the fragmentary, unequal and contradictory realities of global urbanity.

Everyone can participate

As the measures surrounding covid-19 are still in place in most countries and there is no clarity about how this will affect conferences held during the summer, the RC21 board and local organising team have decided to organise the RC21 2021 conference fully virtual. In this way, everyone will be able to participate regardless of possible corona travel restrictions.

The registration for the RC21 conference in Antwerp will start from 1 April 2021. In the meantime, we will continue the practical organisation of the conference and you can expect a final programme of sessions and other activities by early March 2021.
