Coming to Antwerp

Most international travelers will probably arrive at Brussels airport (BRU). Good ways to go from the airport to Antwerp are:

  • By train. About every half hour there is a train from the airport to Antwerp, which takes about 30 minutes. Check the schedule (from: 'Brussels airport - Zaventem'; to: 'Antwerpen-Centraal' or 'Antwerpen-Berchem', depending on where you stay).
  • By bus. The airport express bus travels directly from the airport to Antwerp in about 45 minutes.

See the Brussels airport website for more options.

Several taxi companies operate in Antwerp, e.g. Antwerp-Tax (+32 3 238 38 38) or A-Taxi (+32 3 283 83 93).

The conference will take place in building G at the University of Antwerp's Campus Middelheim (Middelheimlaan 1, 2020 Antwerpen), which is close to several parks and the Middelheim Museum sculpture park.

To get to the conference from the city centre, the easiest way is to take bus 21 or 32, both of which stop near to Antwerp Central station. Note: because of road works, buses depart from Quellinstraat! The bus ride takes about 20 minutes, sometimes a bit longer if there is heavy traffic.

If you are staying in the old center (e.g. at Theater Hotel), you can also take tram 7 and walk to the campus from stop 'Berchem Koninklijkelaan'.
