29 - 31 August 2018
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the Sig Writing 2018 conference in Belgium!
The Sig Writing conference is an event that is circled in red on the calendar of every writing researcher. It has a long-standing tradition of being an important meeting place for researchers, teachers and practitioners who are interested in the latest developments and findings in writing research.
The 16th Sig Writing conference, which will take place from 29 to 31 August 2018 at the University of Antwerp, includes contributions on all aspects of writing. There is also a conference track that is focused on creativity in writing and writing research in all its conceptual, methodological, disciplinary and professional aspects. Creativity is also central to the presentation formats that will be used during the conference. Traditional formats such as the keynote will make a restyled appearance alongside new formats such as the flipped session and the lightning poster session. Be inspired and challenged, following the conference’s tagline Challenge Writing, Embrace Creativity!
Preceding the conference, you can also attend the research school on writing research at Ghent University from 26 to 28 August 2018. This research school is the place to be for PhD candidates and junior researchers. It is the perfect opportunity to get informed on the latest in writing research, but also to consult with writing research experts on your personal research project.
We hope that, during the days that you are attending the Sig Writing conference, you will also take the opportunity to take a stroll around the city of Antwerp. Antwerp is an international center of the diamond industry and has one of the world’s major seaports. The university is situated in the historical centre of the city, with the sightseeing highlights in walking distance.
We look forward to meeting you in Antwerp and Ghent,
The organising committee
