Guidelines for preparation and submission of abstracts

1. Abstracts may be submitted via internet only. Abstracts submitted via fax or e-mail will not be accepted.

2. All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.

3. Abstracts should reflect work that has not been presented before at a conference and has not yet been published on the date of abstract submission.

4. Authors should if they want to compete for one of the prizes.

5. Authors should specify I formation about the content of the abstract on 3 levels:

Level 1: A study that has been completed for which results will be presented (Results) or a study which is in the design phase for which the issues related to choices in study design will be discussed (Design)
Level 2: Type of epidemiological research: Diagnostic, Prognostic, Etiological, Interventional research or Knowledge Synthesis
Level 3: Substantive area: Cancer Epidemiology, Cardiovascular Epidemiology, Clinical Epidemiology, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Environmental Epidemiology, Genetic epidemiology, or other.

6. The abstract text may not be longer than 300 words. One table, chart or other graphic is permitted.

7. After having submitted your abstract, you will immediately receive a confirmation of your submission by e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation contact the congress secretariat by sending an e-mail to

8. Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee. The review process will be blinded to authors and institutions. The scientific committee of the congress reserves the right to accept or reject abstracts submitted. The committee’s decisions are final. Authors will be notified of acceptance as of end March 2017.

9. If an abstract is accepted, one of the authors must attend the congress and present it in person. The presenting author of an accepted abstract is required to register and pay the registration fee by 24 May to ensure the rights for the oral or poster presentation.
