Learning outcomes

1. The Master is able to explain the interaction between man and labour.

2. The Master is able to list, measure and evaluate risks in the working environment. This concerns risks of health damage and incapacity for work. In this the Master pays particular attention to vulnerable groups.

3. The Master is able to collaborate with actors of related sciences and disciplines such as ergonomics, occupational safety, occupational hygiene and psychology.

4. The Master is able to handle the diagnostic, preventative and therapeutic arsenal.

5. The Master is able to examine and evaluate the health and the incapacity for work of employees, at individual level as well as at the collective level.

6. The Master is able to timely diagnose occupational diseases and workrelated conditions and detect the risk factors. The Master is able to advise on preventative measures and to propose appropriate solutions at individual and group level. The Master involves the possibilities of other disciplines.

7. The Master refers to other carers and actively collaborates to find possibilities of restarting work and of adapted work for the incapacitated employee.

8. The Master is able to give health relevant information, training and advice to employees, employers and interested third parties.

9. The Master is able to organise and administer first aid and urgent care to employees.

10. The Master knows(recognizes) the possible effects on the environment of exposure to risks by industrial activities and is able to give the necessary information and advice.

11. The Master is able to describe, critically analyse and solve a problem in the working field in a scientifically sound way.

12. The Master is able to adequately report orally and in writing to peers and to the company.

13. The Master is able to explain the structure and organisation of health care, in particular preventative medicine and the medico-legal insurance sector.

14. The Master is able to explain the organisation of labour and business and knows the management methods.

15. The Master has the required knowledge, skills and attitudes to confer and collaborate with other people, organisations and institutions within or outside the company and this at all levels.

16. The Master knows the professional, ethical and legal codes of conduct and practises them.

17. The Master improves and maintains their professional competences.
