Peter Bursens (vice-dean)
For the next three years I will be serving as a member of the faculty's executive committee as Chair of the Educational Commission. In addition to general policy I will mainly focus on educational matters. Reforming the Master programmes and preparing the institutional audit will be the most important points, as well as our permanent focus on quality in the educational programmes.
I am fortunate that I can rely on my extensive experience as Chair of the Educational Commission for the Master in Comparative and European Politics, and the various positions in which I helped to shape the internationalisation of education at faculty and university levels.
In addition to being a member of the Faculty Board, I also teach European politics on the PSS Bachelor and Master programmes and at the Antwerp Management School. As far as research goes, I also work for the Antwerp Centre for Institutions and Multi-Level Politics (ACIM) where I conduct and supervise research on Europeanisation, territorial politics and democratic legitimacy in multi-layered political systems.
Sven De Mayer (vice-dean)
Koen Pepermans (Faculty Director)
The Faculty Director is responsible for the policies on personnel management, budget and infrastructure. For instance, in allocating office work space, the director acts as an intermediary between the different departments and research groups, individual employees and the faculty at large.
Also, a large task is the support offered in the preparation, implementation and follow-up of education & research policy. The merger of the faculties (see ‘History’), the visitations by the accreditation organizations in both education and research, the BaMa-implementation, … . You name it, and the Faculty Director has a hand in it.
A last responsibility is acting as the official representative of the Faculty in various internal and external Boards and Commissions at the University of Antwerp.
