Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions - Call for Individual Fellowships (IF)

IOB would like to draw your attention to the recently launched call for Individual Fellowships (IF) in the framework of the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.

If you are interested in joining IOB as a MSCA fellow, please contact our Institute Coordinator Ms. Vicky Verlinden as soon as possible to discuss your application.

Deadline: 14 Sept 2017

1. Background

Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) support the career development and training of researchers from all disciplines through international and intersectoral mobility. The fellowships are an excellent means to attract experienced researchers of (in principle) any nationality to the University of Antwerp. Only researchers which are in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience do qualify for these fellowships.

2. MSCA IF types

MSCA-IF are characterized by specific mobility conditions that the candidates should meet. Here we give on overview of these mobility rules for the different types of fellowships, all details can be found in the MSCA-IF guide for applicants.

2.1. European Fellowships (12-24 months) – EF

European Fellowships are held in EU Member States or Associated Countries.

2.1.1. Standard European Fellowships

The researcher shall not have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of his/her host organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals.

The researcher shall not have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the  country of his/her host organisation for more than 36 months in the 5 years immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals.

  • A Career Restart (CAR) Fellowship aims to finance researchers who want to resume research in Europe after a career break.
  • Reintegration (RI) Fellowships are dedicated to researchers who want to return and reintegrate in a longer term research position in Europe.

2.2. Global Fellowships (24-36 months) – GF

Global Fellowships are composed of an outgoing phase (12-24 months) during which the researcher undertakes a secondment to a partner organisation in a Third Country, and a mandatory 12-month return period to a host organisation (the beneficiary) located in a Member State or Associated Country. The researcher shall not have resided or carried out the main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the third country where the initial outgoing phase takes place for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the deadline for submission of proposals.
