Inform your health insurance provider of your departure and request an E104 document. This document is proof of your coverage in Belgium during the insured period and can be useful when registering with a health insurance provider in your new country. Health insurance rights can often be transferred in EEA countries.

Don’t forget to terminate all contracts that you have entered into in Belgium, such as:

  • Rental agreement (remember to ask for your deposit back!)
  • Bank account
  • Mobile phone
  • Internet
  • Gas, electricity and water
  • Insurance policies
  • Forward your post: bpost service – DO my move. More information can be found on the website of bpost.

Please keep in mind that notice periods might be applicable.
