Blackboard course on information literacy
In Blackboard you can find a course called ‘Informatievaardigheden’, offering students the essentials on using information efficiently with an elaborate self-study tutorial, news, tips, and much more. For the moment the course is only available in Dutch however.
Online question time
- Are you having difficulties with searching information?
- Do you have questions about certain databases?
- Don't you know where and/or how to look up books or journals?
- Is it unclear how you can get to the full text of scientific articles?
... then the online question time might be right for you!
Once each month the library will be online in the afternoon (12:30 - 13:30).
You can ‘come round’ with your own questions or listen to the questions of others.
Check the library’s calendar for the exact dates and participation links.
No need to register in advance. Remember to sit somewhere quiet (at home or anywhere else). Both image and audio are transmitted via the computer, so a telephone is not necessary.
Open Library courses
Throughout the year, the library organizes open training sessions on searching and using scientific information. The following subjects are treated:
- Getting started: building a search query, determine search terms
- Locating documents via catalogue and Discovery Service
- Web of Science
- Google Scholar
- Advanced searching
- Reference management in EndNote
Check the library’s calendar for the exact dates and participation links. You can follow one session of your interest or choose to participate in the whole series. If you attend each lesson in this series, we gradually build up from basic to advanced use.
The whole course is alternately given in Dutch or in English. Everyone can participate. No need to register in advance.
All lessons are organized as online webinars, using ‘Blackboard Collaborate'. Both image and audio are transmitted via the computer.
Recordings of the online sessions will be available on Mediasite.
