JJ/WBG scholarships are intended for graduate studies at partner universities or for preferred university graduate programmes. Though the University of Antwerp is not a partner university nor offers preferred university graduate programmes, the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (with close ties to the University of Antwerp) does offer graduate programmes for which funding is possible.
The Institute of Tropical Medicine (ITM) is one of the world's leading institutes for training, research and assistance in tropical medicine and health care in developing countries. The ITM works with many scientific institutions, governments and organisations all over the world for a long-lasting improvement of health care and disease control in developing countries.
Programmes for which JJ/WBG scholarships are available, include:
- Master in Public Health - International Health (taught in English)
- Master en Santé Publique - Politiques et Management des Systèmes de Santé (taught in French)
- Master en Santé Publique - Contrôle des Maladies (taught in French)
Scholarships are awarded for the duration of the Master programmes, in this case for 30 months. They cover economy class air travel to the host institution, travel allowance, tuition fee, health insurance, living allowance, … .
