About CyberWood

CyberWood is a 4-years (2015-2019) research project financed by the BOF (Bijzonder Onderzoeksfonds) of the University Antwerp. The project intends to describe the relationships between celebrity news consumption and several online behaviors of adolescents. The research has a special focus on cyberbullying, but the prosocial behaviors will also get some attention. The second stage of the project concentrates on the positive contribution of celebrity news in the prevention and intervention of cyberbullying.

The aim of this research is to contribute to the determination of the different factors that can trigger cyberbullying. The second phase will explore the knowledge of effective intervention- and preventionstrategies for cyberbullying, making use of celebrity testimonials.
