Exchange students (only Target Group 1)
Students from South African partner universities who are currently enrolled or who will be enrolled in a master programme next academic year can apply for an exchange period in Europe for the 2016 fall semester (September – January). Applicants for a master exchange programme can check the academic offer of the European partner universities for exchange seeking students in the application database. It is mandatory to discuss your plans with your supervisor/faculty coordinator concerned if you wish to apply for an exchange period abroad in order to make sure that the study period abroad can be recognized at home. Courses at the home university need to be replaced by courses at the host university. The courses that will be taken at the host university need to be listed in what is called a 'learning agreement'. This document needs to be approved by both the home and host university before your departure to Europe. The learning agreement will guarantee the recognition of your credits obtained at the host university in your home university in South Africa. Generally one semester adds up to 30 ECTS credits.
Applicants for an exchange scholarship are required to upload a preliminary learning agreement (courses) or study plan (research work) together with their online application. The preliminary learning agreement or study plan does not have to be officially approved yet at the time of application. The official learning agreement will need to be submitted after having been selected for the scholarship. It needs to give a realistic indication though of your study plan abroad. More information about available courses (in English) can be found via the info sheets of the partner universities.
Applicants for a master degree programme can check the academic offer of the European partner universities for degree seeking students in the application database. The specific programme details and admission requirements for the programme of your choice are described in the application database. Please be sure to upload all required documents and information, specific to the master programme you're applying for, in the online application form.
The available master courses are one year programmes (60 ECTS credits) starting in August or September 2016.
