Getting around in Antwerp

How to get around in Antwerp?

  • Antwerp by bike
Antwerp is a bike-friendly city: the distances are not too large, the bike lanes are flat and with the right gear, you can cycle all year round. There are plenty of options for renting.
  • Antwerp by public transport
Antwerp has a dense public transportation network. Buses and trams are available to take you to many different parts of the city.
  • Antwerp by taxi
  • Antwerp by car
Finding parking space in Antwerp can be difficult and expensive. As of 1 February 2017, Antwerp's city centre and part of Linkeroever on the left bank are low emission zones

Due to roadworks, the Stadscampus and Campus Mutsaard are difficult to reach by car. From 5 June 2017 until December 2018, the Leien near the Stadscampus and Campus Mutsaard will be closed in both directions between the Violierstraat and the Maria Theresialei for through traffic (near Operaplein). The Stadscampus and Campus Mutsaard are in the blue 'Centrum Noord' zone. Take exit 1 'Merksem' or exit 2 'Deurne' on the ring road to reach this 'Centrum Noord' zone.
We recommend to travel to Stadscampus or Campus Mutsaard by public transport.
