How to get around in Antwerp?
- Antwerp by bike
Antwerp is a bike-friendly city: the distances are not too large, the bike lanes are flat and with the right gear, you can cycle all year round. There are plenty of options for renting.
- Antwerp by shared step, scooter or car
The newest way to travel around Antwerp is by shared step, scooter or car. There are several providers, some examples:
- Antwerp by public transport
Antwerp has a dense public transportation network. Buses and trams are available to take you to many different parts of the city.
- Antwerp by taxi
- Antwerp by car
Finding parking space in Antwerp can be difficult and expensive. As of 1 February 2017, Antwerp's city centre and part of Linkeroever on the left bank are low emission zones.
Due to roadworks, the Stadscampus is difficult to reach by car. The Leien near the Stadscampus will be closed in both directions between the Violierstraat and the Maria Theresialei for through traffic (near Operaplein). The Stadscampus is in the blue 'Centrum Noord' zone. Take exit 1 'Merksem' or exit 2 'Deurne' on the ring road to reach this 'Centrum Noord' zone.
We recommend to travel to Stadscampus or Campus Mutsaard by public transport.
