IMMILAB

IMMILAB is a federal research project on improving the labour market position of people with a migration background in Belgium.

Our research aims to understand the mechanisms behind the persisting underperformance of immigrants and their descendants on the Belgian labour market. We study labour market trajectories of immigrants from individual, household and firm perspectives.

Our researchers are based at the University of Antwerp, l'Université Libre de Bruxelles, l'Université de Mons and the federal migration centre Myria.

The project is generously supported by funding from the Belgian Science Policy Office (2017-2021).
