The IMPALA project is an Erasmus + Key Action 2: Capacity Building in Higher Education programme, funded by the European Commission.
Its aim is to set up a network of European and South African universities and educational organizations to respond to the needs in the South African higher education community.
It aspires to develop clear and viable internationalization strategies within the South African partner universities to bring them up to par and give them a much needed head start for future international cooperation initiatives.
The project seeks to bring the South African partner universities to a more advanced level in terms of management and strategies of internationalization through the training of staff and the strengthening of structures and policies.
The Erasmus+ Capacity building project IMPALA holds its final conference in Cape Town on November 9th and November 10th 2018.
On November 9th, the IMPALA project will organize a Conference on Global Engagement in Higher Education: South African and European Perspectives. This conference day is open to all interested parties and stakeholders of the European Union and South Africa.
On November 10th, the IMPALA project organizes a closed event, only for staff members of the IMPALA partner universities. During this day, all staff members that were involved in the activities and who developed materials will come together to showcase and discuss further in depth their results.
