IMPALA events

The IMPALA project will carry out a number of activities focussing on the implementation of strategies for internationalization in its four South African partner universities CPUT, UNIVEN, UL, UFH.

All activities are jointly organized by the South African and European IMPALA partners involved, discussed and monitored at consortium meetings and prepared by the different working groups installed within the network:

* WG 1: Strategies and site visits
* WG 2: Short Term Programmes/Summer Schools
* WG 3: Internationalization of the curriculum
* WG 4: Project writing and management
* WG 5: Mobility Toolkit

IMPALA events 2018

In 2018 the consortium organizes

  • Internationalization strategy workshops at the different IMPALA partner institutions (19 - 23 February 2018) , to revisit the current strategy papers or to discuss possible strategies for the future
  • A final conference (9 & 10 November 2018, Cape Town)
    9 November: conference on Global Engagement in Higher Education: South African and European Perspectives (open to all interested parties and stakeholders of the European Union and South Africa)
    10 November: closed event to showcase and discuss further in depth the results of the IMPALA project (only for staff members of the IMPALA partner universities)

IMPALA events 2017

In 2017 the IMPALA project consortium will organize the following events:

  • A three-day training course programme for South African academics, leaders and administrators of the partner institutions on various topics in the field of internationalization of HE (20 - 23/03, Cape Town)
  • European site visit programme for the University leaders of the four South African partner universities  (26 - 30/06, University of Graz, University of Antwerp, UCLL)
  • A final workshop for trainees of the IMPALA Staff training week (25 - 28/09, Venda) (27 - 28/11, Antwerp for trainees involved in the COIL workshop
