The network "Turning images into value through statistical parameter estimation", supported by Research Foundation - Flanders, consists of Flemish and foreign research groups active in the field of quantitative imaging using statistical parameter estimation theory. The groups involved represent a wide range of disciplines including electron microscopy, magnetic resonance imaging, astrophysics, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray and positron emission tomography.

The common goal is to estimate unknown structure parameters that characterise the object under study, as precisely as possible from experimental images or spectra.

Although a broad range of methods is available to reach this goal, they are so far often only used within particular fields of applications. The aim of this network is therefore to consolidate different expertises in order to encourage scientific collaborations and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on various techniques in the field of statistical parameter estimation.
