Postdoctoral Fellowships

Postdoctoral fellowships are temporary, usually research-oriented appointments for scientists who have completed a doctoral study. Postdocs are usually hired through an employment contract, the duration is generally shorter than a doctoral fellowship and the promoter’s role tends to be limited. The main objective is to contribute to the scientific output of a research unit by producing relevant scientific publications. However, other possible tasks are participation in research projects, supervision/coaching of doctoral students and, not uncommonly, also teaching duties.
