3-Day PhD Seminar hosted by Paul Hendrikse, investigating several aspects of performance and how it affects and may emancipate us. Each day focuses on a different aspect of performance and embodiment. The seminar is part of the Sint Lucas Antwerp & Extra City Naively Radical Research Week.​

4 October -  Remember, redo, restage

Memory and history are returning topics in many artistic practices nowadays. Very often these practices include performance. The archive, living history and re-enactment will be topics that will be dealt with on the first day. It will encompass diverse performative relationships to memory association, reappearance, remembrance and active forgetting.

5 October - On collectivity and collective learning

Sharing responsibilities, experiences and activities is a common thing in theatre and has made its way into art performance as well. Authorship, different working models and other types of collaboration will be the subject of this day.​​​​​​​​​

6 October - From activation to activism

Political activism was a contested thing within the arts till approximately 15 years ago. The renewed attention for history and global movements like black lives matter or the debate on colonialism set new grounds for artists and performers to work. This day we will look into the relationship of activism and the body.
