To Antwerp

Participants will be responsible for their own transport to and from the Antwerp University.

From Brussels National Airport

The airport is located at about 45 kilometres from the centre of Antwerp. The most convenient way to reach Antwerp is by taking the SN Brussels Airlines Express Bus, a direct coach service from the airport to the centre of Antwerp (De Keyserlei – Antwerp Central Station). The bus runs every hour from 4:00 to midnight and reaches the centre of Antwerp in approximately 45 min. A ticket costs €10 and can be bought in cash or by card on the bus. The bus station is located on the ground floor below the arrival hall in the airport terminal. You can find more information here.

You can also take the train to Antwerp as there is an underground train station at the airport. There are 4 trains an hour to Antwerp during the day. You can find the timetables here. The train to Antwerp takes approximately 45 minutes and costs €11.80 (diabolo fee incl.). Always keep your luggage close to you!

From Brussels South Charleroi Airport

If you fly with Ryanair, you will arrive at the airport of Charleroi, known as ‘Brussels South’ Airport, located at 46 km south of Brussels. You can buy a ‘bulk’ ticket for €21.50 on the belgian railway website. This ticket covers the bus rides by public bus (line A) from the airport to the Charleroi-Sud train station, plus the train ride from there to any railway station in Belgium. There is a direct train link Charleroi-Antwerp, which takes approximately 1,5 hour. You can find more information here.
