Bio

Gerrit Verhoeven works as a lecturer in cultural heritage and history at the University of Antwerp, Faculty of Design Sciences, and as a research associate at the Royal Museum of Art and History (KMKG) on a FED-tWIN mandate. Previously, he taught cultural history at various Flemish and Dutch universities. In his current research, he takes a close look at the historical developments of the KMKG in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries with a broad focus on buildings, collections, curators and more. More generally, he researches historical evolutions in heritage. He is (co-)editor of the magazines Urban History, Nieuwe Tijdingen, and Virtus.
