Christine Lammens

Christine Lammens, BS in Chemistry, is the laboratory manager of the LMM. She coordinates the day-to-day activities in the lab. She is involved in several EU projects (COMBACTE, PREPARE,…) for which she creates and manages lab-related procedures and documentation, including writing of questionnaires, manuals, protocols, and SOPS, and coordination of the logistics of samples of the clinical trials.

David De Pooter

David has studied English/German/Dutch as a translator and has acquired extensive experience in international management and coordinating stakeholder relations through his work with the European Scientific Working group on Influenza (ESWI) and the One Health Platform. David has joined the team at the LMM to manage different LMM-led EU projects: VALUE-Dx (on the value of diagnostics to combat antimicrobial resistance), PREPARE (enhances Europe’s preparedness for major outbreaks of infectious diseases) and RECOVER (an EU-funded project to tackle COVID-19).

Leandra Reijsmeijer

Leandra obtained a professional bachelor in Business Management - Marketing from Odisee in Brussels and graduated as Master in Business Communication from KU Leuven. She has experience in internal and external communication, a passion for content creation and a strong interest in the medical field. During her previous jobs she created both visual and text content for several brands. Leandra joined the LMM as a Communications Officer and is working on several European scientific projects including Global-PPS, LAB-Net, Value-Dx and Ecraid.

Joyce Jacobs

Joyce studied English and German linguistics & literature and graduated as Master in Western literature from KU Leuven. She manages a number of administrative tasks, including LMM’s and projects that the laboratory is involved in, including the organisation of events abroad.

Amber Van Dongen

Amber (‘1982) lives in Wilrijk with her 2 sons. She’s into healthy cooking, crossfit, running and spending time with friends & family. Amber graduated as a Master in Biomedical Sciences from Antwerp University in 2005. Next to that she also obtained a Master in Environmental Science. 

Before joining the Laboratory of Medical Microbiology as our Quality Manager, she worked at KU Leuven as a PhD student, at UZA as a Clinical Research Employee and later as a Quality Manager and Clinical Employee at AZMonica. In her current role she is responsible for the implementation of a Quality Management System & will coordinate the qualification and validation of computerised systems, protocols and equipment. The evaluation of the Quality Management System is also one of her tasks by performing audits and writing an annual Management Review.

Jimmy Keustermans

After my Applied Computer Science studies in Brussels, I started working as a Software Developer for the Flemish Government. Subsequently, I worked as an ICT consultant in the private sector. Through this job I gained experience in different sectors and deepened my knowledge by taking on different roles ranging from Software Developer to Software Architect. I have also functioned in both technical and non-technical leadership roles. Currently I am using my expertise within the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences to take the Global-PPS project to the next level.

Anke Broos

Anke obtained a master’s degree in Communication Sciences at Universiteit Antwerpen. During her career she has worked in business development, market research, general marketing and communication and go to market management. After having had experiences in a wide range of industries, she came back to where it all began: Universiteit Antwerpen. She joined the LMM team as a Marketing Officer. Anke is responsible for the further growth of LAB-Net by developing a brand-, marketing- and communication strategy for our very own network of laboratories.
