UAMC is focused on the therapeutic domains of infectious diseases, inflammation and cell death/survival. The UAMC compounds are mostly targeting enzymes, often proteases. For the discovery of these compounds we use medicinal and computational chemistry approaches, but we are also investing considerably in other techniques such as: covalent inhibitors and activity-based probes, bioorthogonal chemistry, bioimaging, fragment-based research such as the modified substrate activity screening (MSAS) developed in house, and on-target synthesis.
