Molecular Plant Physiology and Biotechnology

Plants are of crucial importance for the sustainable production of food, feed, raw materials and bio-fuels. The global climate change affects crucial growth regulating environmental factors such as temperature, CO2 concentration and water availability. Our research focusses on the molecular and cellular basis of plant growth responses to these environmental factors. One important aim of this research is to provide the experimental knowledge to engineer crops for optimal productivity in current and future climate scenarios. The research team brings together expertise in the fields of plant growth analysis, transcriptomics, proteomics, biochemistry and computational biology.
