The topic of justice and fairness has increasingly attracted attention from transport scholars. Within this context, it is generally argued that people need a sufficient level of accessibility to avoid social exclusion. Studies of the Research Group for Urban Development discuss transport justice, particularly in the context of congestion charging, and shed light on transport-related social exclusion and accessibility challenges in ports and other areas. Also the social consequences of sustainable mobility policies were investigated by members of the research group.
