Ship finance in the Basel IV era
On 28 February, during the EU Shipping Week, the BNP Paribas Fortis Chair Transport, Logistics and Ports hosted an event on the topic ‘Ship finance in the Basel IV era’ in Brussels. After two keynote speeches by BNP Paribas, a panel discussion with people from the shipping industry, the academic world and DG FISMA was scheduled.

13 Maart 2017:Delegates at a European Shipping Week seminar showed relief on learning that the new Basel IV ship finance rule will cost banks less than they’ve previously anticipated. “The proposed timing of implementation is also much more relaxed than we thought,” said organiser Christa Sys, from the Department of Transport and Regional Economics at the University of Antwerp and BNP Paribas Fortis Chair Transport, Logistics and Ports, in Belgium.
