USI was present at the meeting of the WOG, the FWO-funded scientific research network on Solidarity in Diversity (12-14/09, Gdansk, Poland). The aim of this meeting was to create a dialogue between different traditions of thinking on solidarity in Europe. This meeting was particularly interesting as it also included lectures by several local experts on solidarity, which resulted into valuable discussions and an enriched joint understanding of solidarity. Moreover, a visit to the exhibition at the European Solidarity Centre was fruitful to learn more about the geographical and historical context about a particular event: the Solidarity Movement in Poland.
Stijn Oosterlynck gave a keynote lecture at the WOG meeting in Gdansk.
