About IMPRES

Integrated Molecular Plant physiology Research (IMPRES) is one of the research groups in the Department of Biology at the university of Antwerp. The research focuses on the regulatory mechanisms of plant development and responses towards changes in the environment, and mostly relies on molecular (cell) biology, enzymatic activity quantification, several forms of (live cell) microscopy, cell wall extensiometry and plant hormone and metabolite analyses.

Ongoing research mainly exploits the model plants Arabidopsis thaliana and Zea mays which both represent very useful experimental systems to study developmental processes in higher plants.
