Thursday 17 November 2016 - University of Antwerp - Klooster van de Grauwzusters, Lange Sint-Annastraat 7, 2000 Antwerp
This yearly event aims at bringing together the alumni of the Management Information Systems(MIS)- and IT management degrees, in order to contribute to an ecosystem of MIS-professionals, across boundaries of universities and industry, aimed at knowledge exchange and synergies.
This year, the Evening will also include the final of the 1st Normalized Systems Design Award. Normalized Systems is a theory on the evolvability of modular structures. It is aimed at investigating questions such as “how can the evolvability of software systems drastically be improved ?”, or “why is the scalability of artefacts such as houses and airplanes at this moment rather limited ?”.
The question for which the Award will be granted, is “Propose a promising application of Normalized Systems theory in management/economy or a technological domain of your choosing, including an initial business model”. Participants will be students in the Business Engineering in MIS degree, who can add to their team any number of members of diverse backgrounds: pre- and post-experience, academics and professionals, … .
