Ane Aranguiz, PhD
Ane is a law graduate from the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV). After obtaining her bachelor degree in 2014 she was granted an excellency scholarship by the Council of Bizkaia to continue her studies at Tilburg University, where she pursued a master in European and International Law- Human Rights track. She graduated cum laude in 2015 and worked as a researcher at Tilburg University until April 2016. After four years as a PhD student at the Faculty of Law of the University of Antwerp, in 2020 she obtained her PhD with a thesis entitled “The role of EU law in contributing to the Union's objectives of combating poverty and social exclusion" under the supervision of prof. dr. Herwig Verschueren and prof. dr. Bea Cantillon.
She is currently a postdoctoral researcher member of the Horizon 2020 EUSOCIALCIT project and a teaching assistant for the course of Legal Issues of International Employment. She is a member of the Herman Deleeck Centre for Social Policy and the research group Government and Law of the Faculty of Law.
