Evert Van den Broeck (1990) graduated in 2012 as M.Sc. Strategic Communication and in 2013 as M.Sc. Organisation and Management at the University of Antwerp. He was a top-10 finalist at the 2012 dissertation awards of the Flemish Region with his dissertation on the effectiveness of personalised advertising on social networking sites. His fields of interest are social media and marketing. In 2019 he defended his doctoral thesis titled "When ads walk a thightrope. Balancing effectiveness and privacy issues of personalized advertising on social networking sites."
He is currently working as a voluntary researcher at the research group MIOS (Media & ICT in Organisation and Society) of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Antwerp. Further, he is a full-time communication strategist at Wunderman Thompson.
