Inge Van de Plas obtained her law degree from the University of Antwerp in 2013. That same year she joined the international law firm NauthaDutilh and the Brussels bar.
In 2014 Inge was admitted to the University of Toronto, where she obtained her LL.M in 2015. As part of the LL.M program Inge wrote a thesis under the supervision of prof. dr. Duggan. This thesis (The UNCITRAL Legislative Guide, Model Law and Three Country Comparison) has been included in the UNCITRAL online library
In 2016 Inge started as a PhD-student at the Law Faculty of the University of Antwerp. Under the supervision of prof. dr. Melissa Vanmeenen and as a member of the research group Business and Law Inge is preparing a doctoral thesis in corporate insolvency and secured transactions law. Her research focusses specifically on the integration of retention of title agreements and the impact of this integration on the position of the creditor-owner in corporate insolvency proceedings and secured transactions law. In line with her doctoral research Inge publishes regularly in national and international journals and books (see publications).
Furthermore, since 2017 Inge is a contributing member to the current event section of the Belgian journal 'Tijdschrift voor Belgisch Handelsrecht' and since 2018 she is chairman of the editing board concerning insolvency law for the same journal.
