Leen Catrysse works as a postdoc researcher and guest professor at the department of Training and Education Sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences.
She obtained a PhD in Educational Sciences at the department of Training and Education Sciences at the Faculty of Social Sciences. The focus of her PhD entitled 'How students learn: bridging online and offline measures' was on how to measure higher education students' processing strategies in an appropriate way. Rather new techniques such as eye-tracking and fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) were explored and used to gain more insight into how students processed texts.
The focus of her postdoc research is on the one hand on exploring statistical techniques to analyse complex and large datasets and on the other hand on using eye-tracking to gain more insight into how students learn.
