I am a researcher at the department of Accountancy and Finance since November 2013. In May 2019, I obtained my PhD. Since October 2014-9, I am a Post-doctoral Resarch Fellow, funded by the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO).
I am mainly interested in corporate finance. More specifically, during my PhD, I studied the dividend policy of Belgian firms between 1838 and 2012. Currently, I am studying the relation between legislation and firm performance using history as a laboratory Additionally I also investigate how the institutional environment affect entrepreneurship, again from an historical perspective.
The first chapter of my PhD is published in Journal of Banking & Finace (co-authored by Prof. dr. Jan Annaert and Prof. dr. Marc Deloof).
Between October 2017 and December 2017, I was a visiting researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam - Rotterdam School of Management.
