  • I finished a phd at Ghent University. My research focused on the influence of curiosity on consumer behavior. While curiosity is a potential driver of consumer behavior, the topic is yet under researched. The current doctoral research adds to the emerging literature with three projects. The first project looks at the relationship between two specific types of curiosity (curiosity out of interest and curiosity out of deprivation) and its relation with risk behavior (i.e. smoking-initiation). The second project focusses on post-purchase satisfaction and regret after product trials induced by curiosity. The third project focuses on immediate vs. delayed statisfaction of curiosity. For this research I've used both qualitative (focus-groups) as quantitative methods (descriptive research and experimental
