My research focuses on education for sustaianble development (ESD) and action competence (in sustainable development, ACiSD) as a possible desired learning outcome. Various publications were resulted from my involvement in the VALIES project, which wanted a.o. to facilitate ESD-effectiveness studies. Therefore, we developed various measurement tinstruments that can complement toolboxes to map the professional action competence of schoolteams and (possible evolutions) in their students' action competence. I was also involved in research on young adolescents' connectedness to nature and their motivation towards the environment.
