Want to become an exchange student at UAntwerp?

The University of Antwerp welcomes over 500 erasmus or exchange students each year from partner institutions throughout the world. If you also would like to spend a semester at our university then read more about the admission procedure.

Study

If you would like to study at the University of Antwerp as an exchange student, you should talk to the international office of your home university first to see what your options are. If a valid bilateral (or multilateral) cooperation agreement exists between your university and the University of Antwerp your institution can nominate you to spend a study period with us.

The admission procedure for exchange students coming to the University of Antwerp (B  ANTWERP01) includes two mandatory phases:

  • The home institution nominates the student to the University of Antwerp
  • Afterwards, the student submits the application to the University of Antwerp

Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from students who have not been officially nominated by their university.

Placement

If you want to undertake a work placement at the University of Antwerp, there are some faculties that offer you the possibility to do a placement as part of your degree programme.

There are two ways to apply for a placement position at the University of Antwerp.

  • You can contact the faculty/department where you want to do your internship directly OR
  • You can contact the International Relations Office. Provided that you send us a short workplan of your planned internship, we will help you in your search for a training supervisor.

When the arrangements between your training supervisor and yourself are set up, you can contact the International Office who will send you a link to start the online application process.
