Dutch language courses

Master of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy

Starting in 2021-2022 the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences offers Dutch language courses to its international students for free. By organising these courses we hope to facilitate your integration, improve your learning during clinical internships and increase your chances to continue your professional career at our university or in Belgium. If you are a student in in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy (REVAKI) there is an additional advantage: it is more likely that you will be accepted to do an internship at their preferred internship site.

The intensive, tailor-made and high-quality language courses are organized by Linguapolis, the university’s languages centre, and consist of two separate and consecutive courses; 

Course 1: Dutch for beginners

  • Free of charge, 13 evening classes during the 1st semester. 
  • This basic course allows you to acquire a basic knowledge of Dutch that you can apply in everyday life. 
  • Available to international students in Epidemiology and Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy. By participating in this course as an international physiotherapy student, you will increase the possible number of internship sites that will accept you for your clinical internship in Master 1. Furthermore, it will increase the likelihood that you will be assigned your first choice internship site. At least 80% attendance is required to enjoy this benefit.


Course 2: Dutch for clinical internships

  • ​Free of charge, 13 evening classes during the 2nd semester
  • This tailor-made course focuses on the professional jargon international physiotherapy students need to use during their clinical internship, more specifically in dealing with patients
  • By participating in this course as an international physiotherapy student, you will increase the possible number of internship sites that will accept you for your clinical internship in Master 2. Furthermore, it will increase the likelihood that you will be assigned your first choice internship site. At least 80% attendance is required to enjoy this benefit.
