In a nutshell

When

What

Intensive 5-day entry level hands-on course on making digital editions. In this course, participants will acquire a set of basic computer skills to design a fully-fledged, TEI-compatible Digital Scholarly Edition on a Raspberry Pi mini computer.

Who

Undergraduate (BA3), graduate (MA) and postgraduate (PhD, postdoc) students as well as professionals in the field of Humanities.

Course requirements

No advanced computer knowledge is required, but participants will be expected to complete a set of simple exercises before the start of the summer school that will be provided by the tutors.

Equipment

Participants should have a recent laptop at their disposal (excluding so-called netbooks or tablets), running Windows, Mac OS X or a Linux distribution, with sufficient RAM (over 8GB).

Credits

3 ECTS credits are awarded upon successful completion of the summer school.

Optional: upgrade to 6 ECTS credits upon completion of an additional exercise after the summer school.

Registration fee

Early bird: €150

Regular: €200

Fee includes course material, lunch, coffee breaks, social activities and a farewell dinner. It does not include accommodation.

Scholarships

University of Antwerp students are entitled to a refund of €150 after completion of the summer school.

Limited number of reduced fees of €50 available for refugees.
