A deep dive into the world of Diamonds, based on an introductory module covering all aspects of the Diamond Pipeline (week 1) and a specialsed module (week 2) focusing on innovation and sustainability in the Industry in all its facets.

The summer school is designed for final year Bachelor students and Master students from different disciplines, as well as for young professionals and researchers, interested in deepening their knowledge about diamonds and its industry.

Course description

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre and the  University of Antwerp warmly invite you to get to know the diamond industry inside out during this two week intensive summer school. In the first week, students discover the world of diamonds in every aspect; such as the historical, geological, technical, economical, commercial and ethical perspectives of the global diamond trade. During the second week, the summer school builds further on this introductory track by focussing on "innovation" and "sustainablity" in every facet of the global diamond industry, from Mine to Finger. 


3 ECTS credits are awarded upon successful completion of the programme.

Registration fee

To be confirmed by February at latest.

The fee includes course material, coffee breaks, site visits, farewell dinner and social activities. Does not include lunch or accommodation.

Reduced fees

Maximum 15 reduced fees available for students.

University of Antwerp students are entitled to a refund of €150.
