Doctoral scholarship holder, 3D-sensing

Departement : Elektromechanica
Regime : Voltijds

The Department of Electro-mechanics in the Faculty of Applied Engineering is looking for a a full-time (100%)

Doctoral scholarship holder in the field of 3D-sensing

The popular pinhole model for imaging sensors and the associated calibration procedures appear to be inadequate for some of the new generation sensor technology. We propose line varieties as a unifying modelling for a broad set of sensors. We wish to extend interpolation techniques and Gaussian processes, to support sensor calibration from small samples of lines. We aim fundamental contributions to the fields of Line Geometry and Probabilistic Numerics. The designed sensor model will be validated by the accuracy standards as required by sensor-supported Radiotherapy.
