In the doctoral seminar on effective written documents, you will learn how to structure research papers, theses, and reports at all levels to get the readers’ attention, facilitate navigation, and get the message across optimally. In particular, you will learn how to write an effective abstract. Besides a full day of conceptual discussion in plenary group, you will have the opportunity to sharpen your skills on a writing homework, on which you will receive individual feedback.
The seminar is taught by Jean-luc Doumont and Geneviève Casterman of Principiae (www.principiae.be). As support material, you will receive a copy of Dr Doumont's book Trees, maps, and theorems.
