Webcams

Our lab provides several webcams for recording video, e.g. a Logitech C930e HD, a Logitech C922 Pro HD stream, and a Microsoft Lifecam Studio.

Epiphan Pearl 2

The Epiphan Pearl 2 serves as an advanced multimedia system designed for the capture, streaming, recording of live events. It has multiple inputs for both video and audio, allowing easy switching between different sources. In the Antwerp Social Lab, the system is connected to all HDMI ports, the Barco Clickshare, the AXIS V5925 PTZ camera’s and the Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling. Accessing recorded content is conveniently facilitated through the system's cloud-based software and the University’s network.

Axis V5925 PTZ camera

A camera that records hiigh-definition video's at 1080 pixels and 60 frames per second, with a 30x zoom feature. Researchers can easily pan horizontally, tilt vertically, and zoom in and out using the PTZ function. The camera has motion-triggered activity tracking and object detection/classification software. 

Four of these cameras are installed in the Antwerp Social Lab, providing a 360-degree view of the room, ideally for observing group discussions or activities. Our current setup also allows detailed examination of participants' facial expressions during research activities.

Axis M1075 camera

A camera that records video's at 1080 pixels and is capable of functioning in low-light or no-light conditions. In our lab, this type of camera is installed in each cubicle to observe participants during research activities and/or tasks. It serves a dual purpose: enabling researchers to gather visual material for in-depth analysis of behavior and interactions, as well as providing a means to monitor and follow up on participants' progression.
