Professor Peter Hellinckx and professor Maarten Weyn nominated for an AHA! award

Antwerp.SRL and Voka are organizing the second edition of the Antwerp Innovation Night in the spring of 2022, centred around the AHA! awards ceremony. With these awards they wish to reward the research being carried out in Antwerp. Two of our esteemed professors are nominated to win the prizes. 

Professor Peter Hellinckx – nominated in the category ‘Promising’

The research of Peter Hellinckx focuses on Distributed Artificial Intelligence for Internet of Things and Cyber Physical Systems in the domains of autonomous driving/shipping, logistics and mobility, Industry 4.0 and Smart Cities. Over the past five years, he has been the primary coordinator of industrial research projects worth 5 million euro.

Professor Maarten Weyn  - nominated in the category ‘Achieved’

Over the past five years, Maarten Weyn has been the promotor of research projects worth 4.2 million euro, a large part of it coming from industry. As a lecturer in the bachelor and master program Electronics and ICT Engineering Technology and as a personality in the television show Team Scheire he has a significant societal impact. Last but not least, he launched his 5th spin-off in May 2020: Crowdscan.
